4th Stop: Carpi, Italy
Fossoli Deportee Memorial Museum (WWII memorial museum). It was so sad. T__T
The museum walls were covered with excerpts from letters that the prisoners wrote to their loved ones.
“La mia bocca avrá voi sulle labbra mute.” (Emil, Austria)
You are on my lips though they are sealed.
“Porto con me nella tomba tanti sogni.” (Willi, Francia)
I am taking so many dreams with me to the grave.
——on a lighter note——after a long as heck bus ride (Sam took my camera and took creeper pics of everyone)—-(this is Katoa kekekekeke)—we arrived in….—————-
5th Stop: Pisa, Italy
We literally just stopped here, took pictures, and left.
I saw this McD’s fat train in Pisa though. Just. No. ITALY I AM DISAPPOINTED IN YOU. NO MORE FAT TRAINS!
3rd Stop: Treviso, Italy (FOOD POST!)
My homestay with Valentina’s family in Treviso was nice!
(Above: Balcony dinner! So nice~~
Below: Valentina and I <3)
I was a little iffy at first because staying by myself in someone else’s house in a foreign country is scary! (Plus I don’t speak Italian!) I was so glad that they were super welcoming though. Valentina’s friends were nice too. We all went to the waterpark, and hung out at the town square at night.

The best part of the homestay was the FOOD. First night’s dinner at a restaurant was A WHOLE PIZZA. TO MYSELF. oh my god.
But the best food is at home! Mrs. Louisa’s cooking was to DIE for. Second night’s dinner! My favorites in this dish: RICE (YESSS) Tomatos (YAY) EGGPLANTS (YES YES YES)
Second night’s dinner! Bravo apple juice!!! So good. Shrimp pasta! <3 yum.
Those German BRAVO drinks were SOO good. I want some right now!!
This ham and melon dish was AMAZING. I guess it’s pretty basic in Italy.
Valentina and her brother Federico took a few other girls in my group and myself to explore Venice (again) and I had Carbonara for lunch!
It was deliziosissima!!! I felt so dumb when I asked for some creamy pasta, like with an Alfredo sauce. It turns out there’s no such thing as “alfredo sauce” in Italy. AMERICAN TRICKS! The Italian girls were like, “We have a friend named Alfredo…but he doesn’t make sauce…what…?” haha. Dumb American moment right there.

2nd stop: Venice, Italy
Venice was incredibly beautiful! It looked exactly like “The Tourist” with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. Ahh, it was so colorful!

It was definitely warmer (literally and figuratively) than Paris. Love in the air! Sam took this picture. I like it a lot. I love Venice. My dad loved venice too when he studied art there.

These little shops were so cute!
I made some Italian friends (middle: Francesca, right: Angela) via my home stay girl, Valentina, and they offered me Spritz! It was alcoholic! My face got SO red. Oh, asian genes.
Then we went to see a Murano glass making master. All I could say was, WOAH.
Venice was fun!
alohamcshel asked: LISA! I miss you! I haven't talked to you all summer :( It looks like you're really busy aha... lucky I wish I was ><
EEK Shelby! I miss you!! I’m going to Japan in a week so we won’t be able to do much but GUARANTEE we’ll do stuff when we’re JUNIORS. ho sheett. 2 more weeks? Damn, this summer went by fast. I haven’t even got my permit yet, so sad. I’m so jealous of you. T__T I have so much stuff to tell you and I bet you have choke to tell me too!!
First stop: Paris, France (Part 3)
Louvre + Mona Lisa!
There were so many people in the Louvre. SO MANY ASIAN PEOPLE. Our tour guide was hilarious (though she wasn’t trying to be). “IT’S ALWAYS THE CHINESE PEOPLE TOUCHING THE ART! THE ART!! YOU HAVE TO BE EDUCATED BEFORE YOU COME TO THE LOUVRE!” I felt so bad for her and slightly ashamed to be asian but, hey, I was rep’ing USA and I’m not Chinese so, OH WELL.
We only stayed 3 days in France, and the best food there was this chocolate pizza. It was pretty good. I had escargot too, which was okay…I dunno, it was like tako, except not as good. Overall, the food in France wasn’t my favorite…France in general wasn’t my favorite (probably because of the scary street vendors). I really liked the cool weather and the architecture though.
Speaking of architecture…
Notre Dame Cathedral was absolutely beautiful. Scary. but beautiful.
Catholic school came in handy when identifying this rose window. One point for SHA.
Overall, Paris was beautiful. Street vendors were not. Food was not the best. Fashion was incredible. Graffiti was ART for once. I wouldn’t go back with a tour group, but I definitely would with a local or a few of my closest friends. Maybe with a boyfriend? It was definitely a romantic city, haha. Not for kiddies.
First Stop: Paris, France (Part 2)
Eiffel Tower pose!
On the other side of this picture….CREEPY GORILLAS
Eiffel Tower was actually a pretty iffy experience…There were lots of gorillas and African street vendors that heckled us to buy keychains. There was spit coming down from the tower too. ew.
We went up anyway, and the view was worth it!
Then a whole bunch of us RAN DOWN THE EIFFEL TOWER. BURN, LEGS, BURRRNN.
First Stop: Paris, France (Part 1)
Landing in Paris was not what we expected it to be. After waiting for a couple of hours for two of our Filipino friends to get out of immigration, we finally got out of the airport! We were all, pardon my French, tired as fuck.
We went straight to the Palace of Versailles.

It was so beautiful. The details on the frescoes and just the entire palace itself were amazing.

And of course, we did not fail to Asian-ify France.

Dragon Ball Z stuff right huurrrrr

There were lots of “I’m so damn tired let’s take dumb pictures” pictures, like “let’s hump this bush,” “Doesn’t this statue look like it’s touching itself from this angle?”, “oh look dog shit! Let’s squat down so it looks like we all popped a squat,” and more, but since I’m such a classy girl, I’ll just show you this G rated picture of my friends mimicking a statue.

Oh yeah, Paris, yeah.
